“Train a child inthe way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it”. (Proverbs 22:6)

The family and Church are the firstmoderators of the children’s souls, the first models which children see andfollow, they are the first who are called to raise and form the spiritual moralcharacters of the children. Therefore, the goal of the Pentecostal Union is toorganize Sunday Schools, which meet life needs of all age groups, toddlersthrough teenagers by using learning methods appropriate for each developmentallevel. Most importantly, however, theSunday School is an effective arm of the church to meet social, physical,intellectual, emotional, as well as spiritual needs of the children. The SundaySchool provides an appropriate place for each child, of every age, gender, andsocial status, in which children can be taught with developmentally appropriatelearning materials and methods, in an environment of love, support,encouragement, and exhortation. “…teachingeveryone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ”. (Col.1:28)

The fundamental purpose of the Sunday School is to organize Biblelessons, which can facilitate the process of education and integration of theyoungest generation. In the Sunday School children are taught the Biblicalprinciples which serve them as a moral compass that guides and protects them ontheir journey through life. Here it is taught the right attitude of being aChristian and the passion of serving others. The diligent teaching of the Biblecan guide children to saving faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Webelieve that God’s desire is to transform the lives of our children through thestudy and practical application of His Word mobilizing them to fight againstsin because the faith in the heart of a child is like a sleeping giant, whichwe should just wake up.

A challenge for everybody

• Pray for the Sunday School.
• Develop strategies for improving the quality of Sunday School.
• Invest in the Sunday School because that is an investment for future.
• Pray that God will guide and direct the leaders to train teachers and develop resources to help Sunday Schools in reaching the full ministry potential.
